Students
Investing in the Diesel Technicians of the Future
An internship with Modern provides students the opportunity to experience what it is like to work for a heavy equipment dealer. Interns at Modern receive hands on training alongside our highly skilled and knowledgeable service team and will be exposed to all aspects of the trade, including performing work in both a shop and field setting. These are rewarding experiences that will enhance their education and give them a head start for their future. In addition to real-life experience, Modern has several diesel student programs designed to help offset the costs associated with pursuing a Diesel Technology degree.
Paid Internships
Our paid internship opportunities come with many benefits, including competitive hourly wages, flexible schedules, housing assistance, and much more.
Tuition Assistance
Upon completing a successful internship, our program makes payments direct to you school on behalf of the student each fall and spring semester. The tuition assistance is progressive and the amount awarded is based on the student鈥檚 enrollment year following their internship.
Tool Allowance
After agreeing to full time employment with Modern, students will receive the tool allowance during their last semester to take advantage of the tool vendor鈥檚 student discounts.
Loan Repayment Program
Once a student has accepted a full time offer of employment, they will be eligible to enroll in Modern鈥檚 loan repayment program. The amount of payment a student is eligible to receive is based on the type of degree they achieve. Payments are made in equal monthly installments over the course of three years.
